A Little History About The House
The 10 acre property was purchased in 1986 by founders Rick &
Ellen Scherr and Alan & Susan D'Arienzo. During the summer
of 1987 the Scherrs and D'Arienzos cleared the property to make
way for the lodge. During their clearing they discovered many
thorn trees and decided to name the hill ThornHill. With the
help of many friends and family members, the lot was cleared,
and the house was built. During the winter of 1988, the first
skiers rented the house. For many years we have a continuous
flow of return renters during the ski season, as well as the summer
season when people want to get away and relax.
When is it available?
The house is available for Weekends, Mid weeks, and Holidays.
